The natural latex used for our quality condoms comes from Fairtrade. Our condoms are vegan because of our non-usage of casein. Casein is a protein in cow’s milk and is worldwide very commonly used by the manufacturing of condoms. FAIR SQUARED condoms are manufactured in Germany with much knowledge and experience and offer a natural and effective protection against unwanted pregnancies and STDs.

Cooperation with pro familia: FAIR SQUARED participates in sexual education at schools

As an ethical company it is not only important to us that we cultivate a fair contact to the people being involved in fabrication. Furthermore, we are also deeply engaged in social projects in the manufacturing country for our FAIR SQUARED products. Therefore we cooperate with pro familia NRW – the regional association of the federal structured pro familia – whose organization’s work is focussed on topics such as sexual and reproductive health and rights in Germany. We donate more than 10,000 condoms per year which will be distributed for sexual education at schools around North Rhine-Westphalia. You would like to know more about this topic? Fair Rubber is a good thing for a lot of people. In particular the primary producers of natural latex, the rubber tappers, plantation workers and small scale farmers should be able to participate in Fair Trade. But because of low world market prices for rubber they are often unable to adequately provide for their families.

This is where Fair Rubber Association steps in: The members of the Fair Rubber Association pay 0.50 € per kilogram of Dry Rubber Content (DRC) to their supplier partners. The Fair Trade Premium ensures (in most instances) that the costs of production are met even when world market prices are very low. The Fair Trade Premium can be used to help improve living and working conditions. The board of the small scale farmers’ co-operative or, on plantations, a committee consisting of workers, elected by the workforce and delegates of the management team (called ‘Joint Body’) decide on how to spend the Fair Trade premium, a procedure similar to the one instituted by FLO.
At present FAIR SQUARED condoms and period cups carry the Fair Rubber Logo. FAIR SQUARED is committed to working with the Fair Rubber Association, all future FAIR SQUARED rubber products will be Fair Rubber Association labelled.

FAIR SQUARED takes fairness to be a two dimensional concept: high quality products and a transparent production process. FAIR SQUARED means that we pay a Fair Trade premium for ingredients we source in countries of the so called ‘developing world’ so that producers, plantation workers and small scale farmers and their families can improve their living and working conditions. FAIR SQUARED aims to deal fairly with everyone involved in the production of our products – humane working conditions, environmental and economic sustainability, no child labour and no animal testing or animal products.
